BENIN ILLEGAL STAMPS
2012

Information and Reference of Illegal Stamps for Benin Created in 2012

Flag of Benin

The following images are of illegal stamps produced for Benin. Please remember that the producers of these illegals are not only greedy, they are crude and sometimes disgusting which is the nature of these people.

To verify what stamps are real and legitimate for Benin visit the UPU WNS website and look at the Benin section.

The Universal Postal Union WNS website

You can also get a very good reference of what was officially issued from the Colnect website.

The Colnect Online Catalog for Benin

Check out their Illegal Stamp section as well. It is far from complete but will help you verify many as well.

I have also found the StampWorld Catalog an excellent resource.

You can also use a respectable catalog like Scott or Stanley Gibbons. Do not listen to these dealers trying to convince you they are something other than illegal stamps.

In 2004 when Benin produced circular 30 they did not know that there were more illegal stamps that were being circulated than what they listed. This has occurred for many of the victim countries. To correct it I have researched them all using the major catalog listings and the WNS system as reference to what was officially issued.

Here we go!

Many of the following illegal stamps can be found as imperforates and as color proof sets as well. Some exist on fake First Day Covers too.
Most times now (2019) the souvenir sheet sets and sheetlet sets are sold individually. Many times the stamps have been removed from the sheetlets and souvenir sheets. All of these "tactics" are used to avoid detection by UPU circular descriptions and search terms.

Sellers that call these "private", "locals", "Cinderella's", "unauthorized" are deceiving you. They are illegal stamps produced by a stamp dealer that is bent on ripping you off! Some sellers state "we offer them because they are on the market". Well how about you use a different dealer because that seller is "on the market"? If the stamp societies, auction sites and all other venues kicked these sellers off of their sites then they would have to comply or lose their ability to sell anything.

The following images are free for the use of all to use to alert the public to them. If anyone wants to make a public list of users on eBay, Delcampe and elsewhere who are selling these issues....fine by me since the UPU, PWMO and others appear to have given up or have not been updated in years.

If you have purchased any of these stamps from a dealer or if that dealer offers them, you should avoid that dealer! You will only be supporting illegal stamp makers who are only ripping you off.

2012

From 2012 forward Benin stopped filing their official stamp issues with the WNS system. The reasons why are unclear. Possibly because they did not see the system helping to stop the proliferation of fake counterfeit illegal stamps being produced and sold in the name of Benin. Possibly for financial reasons of which it is costly to to list each issue on the WNS system. For whatever reason(s) the WNS system cannot be used to find the newer official issues for Benin.

The Colnect online catalog is your best bet now for online access to verify the official issues. We still have conflicts with some of those as many are being listed by Michel and/or Yvert but not listed by Scott catalogs or Stanley Gibbons. There definitely needs to be some kind of unification of agreement between all the major catalogs in regards to the official issues for Benin.

In 2012 according to the Colnect catalog Benin officially issued 3 stamp issues.
The date on the stamps is 2013 yet the issue date on Colnect is stated to be in 2012. Scott catalog lists as issued in 2013.

Following are images of the illegal stamps I have found offered for Benin dating 2012. There may and probably are more. All of these I found in searches on eBay and Delcampe and all are illegal stamps made by producers bent on ripping you off!

I present them in alphabetical order of titles as there is no logical order for illegal stamps.

In 2012 the production of illegal stamps in the name of Benin slowed down considerably. The reasons of course are unknown.

In 2012 the Russian based dealers who I believe are also the producers appear. The company is called Topnimarka.com located in Moscow Russia.
The user name is kir30kirill on eBay (account suspended November 2019).
Everything they are selling on both sites is fake and counterfeit stamps.
They are of pure evil not listing on eBay by country name to avoid detection and mass producing counterfeit illegal stamps in the name of many countries. The "styles" unique to themselves, these people are producing and selling counterfeit stamps at a massive rate dating to current times. They are even producing fake stamps for countries controlled by Stamperija. Stamperija's owner has stated that he knows who most of the counterfeit producers are and has some control over stopping their productions at least for countries he has contracts with. This is not the case for this producer. Being located in Russia, I guess they believe that nobody can stop them. I am exposing them which is the first step.
I will note them all "Russian Made Counterfeit Illegal Stamps".
